Committees play an important role in the governance of your Association. In addition to providing assistance to the Board in the many responsibilities it has in the operation of the community, committees also help broaden the base of participation within the Association by its members and give a greater voice to members in how their Association is operated.
There are two types of committees: ‘ad hoc’ and ‘standing’. An ad hoc committee is formed for a specific purpose and is then disbanded when its job is finished. Standing committees serve indefinitely as they deal with matters which are ongoing.
